Cerebrolysin

Cerebrolysin is a neuroprotective peptide complex derived from pig brain tissue. It contains active peptide fragments and neurotrophic factors, including nerve growth factor (NGF), brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF), P21, enkephalins, and orexin. These components support neuron growth, repair, and function, and may improve synaptic plasticity, memory, and recovery from neurological conditions.

How It Works

  • NGF: Maintains sensory neurons, especially those involved in pain and temperature
  • BDNF: Supports growth, maturity, and synaptic regulation of neurons
  • CNTF: Promotes axonal outgrowth and neuron survival
  • P21: Enhances neurogenesis and brain plasticity
  • Enkephalins: Acts on opioid receptors to regulate pain and stress response
  • Orexin: Involved in sleep, appetite, metabolism, and arousal

Research-Based Benefits

  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI) recovery
  • Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease
  • Stroke rehabilitation
  • Peripheral neuropathy
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Vascular dementia
  • Chronic migraine prevention

Dosing Guidelines

CEREBROLYSIN: 30MG
Mix with 1.5mL (150 units) of BAC water
Subcutaneous Administration
30-day cycle followed by 30-day washout

Standard Dose

  • 25 units = 5mg
  • Inject 25 units (5mg), once daily, 5 days per week for 30 days

Alternate Dose Options

  • 5 units = 3mg
  • 10 units = 4mg
  • 15 units = 5mg

Intramuscular Protocol (Optional)

  • Inject up to 5mL intramuscularly over 3 minutes
  • Flush injection site with equal BAC volume afterward
  • Do not apply cold compress post-injection
  • All other higher doses must be administered via low-flow IV infusion

Storage

  • Store refrigerated — allow to reach room temp before use
  • Do not freeze
  • Shelf life: up to 5 years

Side Effects (typically mild and temporary)

  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Increased sweating
  • Agitation

Contraindications

Do not use if:

  • You have severe renal failure
  • You have a history of status epilepticus
  • You are allergic to Cerebrolysin or sodium hydroxide
  • You are on high-dose MAO inhibitors without medical guidance
  • You are taking antidepressants (consult doctor before starting Cerebrolysin)

Note: Cerebrolysin may cause mild fever post-stroke — treatable with antipyretics and not a reason to discontinue use.
